Hello blog readers,
Welcome to my first posting. After reading my wife's blog for the first time (i know it's kind of pathetic to only have read it for the first time just now, but better late then never and all that, eh?) i decided to write my own. I suppose i should give some credit to jeremy sawatzki as well, because after reading his transcript of the model i thought, "hmm, if something funny should ever happen to me, it would be wise to have someplace to record and share it." So, although nothing particularly funny has happened to me recently, i have included some pictures of myself that at the time were quite funny, and i hope they will at least invoke a smile from some readers.
Some of you will be wondering why i have chosen http://coachdueck.blogspot.com/ to lead you to my blog. That's ok. At this point in the blog i would like to share why chose that name. For those of you who already know why, you may at this time skip to the next paragraph. I had the opportunity to coach soccer in Riverton the last few years, and in order to gain the respect of my young players, I asked them to refer to me as 'coach dueck.' Although this later created some confusion when my cousin, also of the last name dueck, started coaching another team, i certainly felt more professional and distinguished to be known, at least for a day (that's about the length of time that it took for my players to drop 'coach' as well as 'dueck' and revert to the more familiar 'eric') as coach dueck.
Wow, that last sentence was a little run-on. For those of you who chose to skip that paragraph, welcome back, and be glad that you missed that little gem, although it was an interesting story.
I shall now sign off, please check back in for more postings, which will hopefully consist of more substantial and interesting stories.
